About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

Join us for an inspiring workshop that delves into the profound world of female saints as depicted in sculpture. This interactive session invites participants to engage in a sensory exploration, combining visual analysis, memory exercises, and creative expression.

In collaboration with the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS), this workshop will be accompanied by pre- and post-questionnaires to capture your insights and experiences throughout the process.

We will begin with an introduction to the significance of female saints in art and history, followed by a guided observation of iconic sculptures. Participants will sharpen their perceptual skills through detailed analysis and comparison, and then take part in a memory exercise to deepen their connection to these sacred forms.

The workshop culminates in a creative session, where you will have the opportunity to design your own interpretation of a female saint, drawing on insights gained throughout the experience. Together, we will reflect on the spiritual and emotional dimensions of these powerful figures, fostering a deeper understanding of the feminine divine.

Speakers: Em. Prof. Dr. Ilse Friesen, art historian and author of the book „Die weiblichen Heiligen im Stephansdom“ (2019)
Host and Facilitator: Ute Weber, MA MSc, art historian
